Twelve Days of Christmas: Day 12

We've got two layouts from Angela.
These are the final projects.
We hope you enjoyed all of the projects & sketches features during the last 12 days.
Happy Holidays!

On the final day of Got Sketch's The 12 Days of Christmas, I would like to share two layouts I made of two very significant groups of people in my life.

I used a family photo for the layout I did based on sketch 115.  I only have one sibling, a younger sister. But, I am blessed with a huge extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and even grandkids! This year, my family faced a crisis that hit us hard and took us by surprise. I thought my sister and I would be left to handle this on our own. But our relatives rallied behind us and provided the love and support when my family needed it the most.  And now, more than ever, I realized the true value of having a family that will always be there for you, no matter what.  This is one of the reasons why I love this hobby so much. Scrapbooking has given me the opportunity to document all the beautiful and happy memories I have shared with my loved ones. For this, I am truly grateful.

SOURCES  Cardstock:  American Crafts. Patterned  Papers:  DCWV The Christmas Stack.  Chipboard Word:  Making Memories. Chipboard Stickers:  LYB Christmas Magic Collection. Wood Flourish:  Kaiser Craft. Border:  KI Memories.  Chain:  Making Memories. Clear Word:  Fancy Pants.  Other Materials:  Glimmer Mist and Stickles.

In the second layout, the picture you see is a group of ladies that also hold a special place in my heart.  These ladies provide instant relief from all the stress I encounter during the week. They are generous, they are quick to share their materials, and would gladly lend you their tools if you don't have one. Just like me, they shriek excitedly at the sight of recently released products, squeal in delight at the latest tools, and with all sincerity, ooh and ahh over your newest creation. These are my scrapbook buddies - the Friday group. Thanks to scrapbooking, I have met and formed friendships with such wonderful people.

This Christmas, may we remember to show our love and appreciation to those who matter to us. And these pages are my way of expressing just that. Merry Christmas, everyone!

Twelve Days of Christmas: Day 12

It's the 12th day of our Twelve Days of Christmas feature.
Here's a beautiful card from Ingrid.

Sketch 114

Ingrid's tips: For today's post I decided to revisit Sketch 114. A great card sketch that just asks for a large focal point. I cut a large snowflake twice and layered them on top of each other and finished it off with a circle die-cut. To add more color to the pink patterned paper I stamped a small image in red on the paper.

The various layers are adhered with adhesive dots to create more depth.

SOURCES  Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Vintage Cream, Pure Poppy) | Patterned paper: October Afternoon (Good Cheer) | Clear stamps: Papertrey Ink (Signature Christmas) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Pure Poppy), Versafine (Vintage Sepia) | Twine: Whisker Graphics | Button: Buttons Galore & More | Adhesive dots: Zva Creative | Tools: Papertrey Ink (Damask Snowflakes), EK Success (1.75 inch circle punch), We R Memory Keepers (Corner Chomper), Fiskars (pinking scissors), sewing machine

Twelve Days of Christmas: Day 11

Yay, a 2-page example from Chrissy, based on a 2-page sketch!
Project 2 of 2.
Sketch 123

Chrissy's Tips:  Who doesn't love 2 page layouts and banners?!  I loved sketch 123 from the moment I saw it and knew it would be perfect for my "cookie making" pictures.  What I love about the placement of the banner on this sketch is that it leaves you enough room to create a large banner title or a small banner title.  I needed a large banner title since I wanted to spell out "cookies" and I love how it didn't take over the layout.  (see image #2)  Plus, it's easy to create your own banners.  I cut 1x2 rectangles from patterned paper and then stacked them on top of each other.  I cut a triangle at the bottom of each to create my banner.  Last, I placed them on white cardstock to make them stand out and cut around the red patterned paper.  Also, to add dimension to my page I added pop dots under the tree and present embellishments.  (see images #1 and #3)

Twelve Days of Christmas: Day 11

Another lovely card from Rae.
Project 1 of 2.
Sketch 113

Rae's Tips:  I am a clean and simple cardmaker at heart, I really like to have the patterned paper and unique elements take center stage on a card. I fell in love with this sentiment die cut, and wanted it to be the focal point on my card.  Adding the red glittered ribbon made the glittered "Christmas" wording on the die cut really stand out.

SOURCES  Cardstock: (black) Hobby Lobby.  Patterned Paper:  (from Lost & Found Christmas 6x6 Designer paper pad) My Mind's Eye.  Accent: (Sentiment die cut from Lost & Found Christmas collection) My Mind's Eye.  Fiber: (Red glittered wire ribbon) Michael's.  Tool:  (Apron lace border punch) Fiskars.
