Got Sketch 101 Update
Got Sketch 101: Pre-Class Activities
With 16 more days before class starts on June 9, we are making the wait seem a little shorter.
Besides all the chit-chat and sharing that is going on in there, we have some pre-class activities already going on!
A SKETCH CHALLENGE:
A prize drawing is involved to those who complete and share their layouts by May 30. This should get us warmed up to get started for class.
Janna and I also have something lined up for the members in the next 2 weeks that can't be missed! So please make sure you check the community regularly.
CHATS:
We have set up some times for Chats. That is always fun! We will be around for a live chat weekly.
See you in there!
It's great to get to know scrappers from not only the U.S., but also from around the world.
For information & registration, see the Got Sketch 101 Class Info page.
PLEASE NOTE: If you have registered and gone through Paypal and missed the "Welcome Page," please email us right away. It should have redirected you automatically. We can just as easily email you an invitation to the group.
International scrappers are more than welcome! We already have lots of members from several countries in our private homey community.

Got Sketch 101 Class!

UPDATE 5/23/08: The Got Sketch 101 class community has Janna and I busy!
Our little community is hoppin' and I can't seem to pull myself outta there. It's getting addicting! LOL.
Thanks so much for everyone's support. Janna and I are so thrilled.
Membership is growing each day. And, as a treat to those who have pre-registered and have joined the community, we are releasing some creative surprises each week before class kicks off on June 9.
If you have completed the registration process, make sure you join the private community from the "Welcome Page" (which you will be redirected to once you complete the Paypal registration). If you happen to have skipped that, email us & we will send you an invitation.
So you already know about this blog, right? Some of you may have even been here from a year ago and subscribe to the weekly sketches. (Thank you!!)
I have teamed up with my good friend, the super-talented Janna Wilson to start an online class that is going to be packed (did I say packed?) with goodies. We have a private community that we've made homey just for this 3-week workshop.
This is going to be so much fun!
I'm so thrilled to finally tell you about it!
Find out about the Got Sketch 101 Class & how to register.
Registration begins now.
Class starts June 9.
There will be a prize drawing for those who register by June 8.
Got Sketch 101 is a three-week online class designed and taught by Valerie Salmon and Janna Wilson. The class kicks off June 9th and will feature the most creative sketches yet: TEN exclusive, never-before-seen sketches for 12x12 one-page layouts, 12x12 two-page layouts, cards and altered items! As an added bonus, we are also providing the layout sketches in 8 1/2 x 11 format. Sketches & projects will be added 2-3 times weekly during the three-week workshop. With the introduction of each new sketch, examples of actual projects will be shown alongside it to give you ideas on their interpretations. You will get complete instructions on putting those sketch-based projects together. Cool, isn't it? And of course, Janna and I will be there to guide you along.
At the end of the course, you will have a downloadable pdf of all the sketches, too!
Class fee: $21.00
Between projects, we'll share our favorite creative tips, tricks, and printable "sketches2go." In addition, each Friday there will be a fabulous prize drawing from some of our favorite manufacturers! Members will be a part of an exclusive online community and will have the option of sharing, discussing and interacting with fellow classmates. The class community will be available for an extended length of time, so if summer plans have you busy, you'll still be able to participate in this class at YOUR convenience.
See you there!
Visit the Got Sketch 101 Class information page to read about it and register.
FYI: Because this 3-week workshop will take up most of my time, I will not be providing sketches for the Got Sketch blog during the class duration (June 9-30).

Sketch Extravaganza
Head on over to Scrapbooker's Clubhouse.
They have been celebrating a 10-day Celebrity Sketch Extravaganza, featuring a different sketch artist each day. Members have the opportunity to interpret sketches by creating their own pages or cards. And they have been sharing up a storm!
You are welcome to join in on the fun!

SKETCH 56
This sketch is based on a layout I did 3 years ago, which I stumbled upon in a 2005 issue of ST as I was going through my old magazines. {'Been in a purging mood lately and making good progress.} I am including the layout at the very bottom of the group of examples. It's an oldie but still a goodie. LOL. Thanks again!

By the way, to those who have emailed with an interest in being a contributor to a future sketch, I just want to say that I have received your submissions. I am unable to reply to each one though. I appreciate your patience as it does take me quite some time to go through the emails and review the links provided. Thanks again.
I recently moved my main blog. It houses all of the Got Sketch? sketches (minus the layout examples). Click here to see the sketches photo album. Once again, the Got Sketch Terms of Use apply to these images as well.

I am glad to share them, but please do not use them as reference for any publication submissions, contest entries, design team projects, class projects, and design templates. SKETCH 52 (2-pager)
I know, many of you must be saying, "It's about time she did another double-pager!!"
And I'm thinking, "Does this mean I can take a break and skip a sketch next week?" (since a 2-pager is like 2 individual sketches) ..... Yeah right! LOL. I think I know the answer to that one. ;-)
{Thanks to the designers below for tackling the ever-so-rare double-page spread. Didn't they do a great job?}

Allison CopeThanks so much for sympathizing with my computer troubles. Gosh, isn't it crazy how much we rely on our computers? Fortunately, because I routinely back up my photos, I did not lose any of them {breathing a sigh of relief there}. I still lost a great deal of information though. So, this week I am solely using my trusted laptop while my big daddy iMac is getting fixed.
Designers: I am getting your submissions! Thanks for resending me emails of your continued interest. Although I cannot reply to each one, you can be certain that I will review each and every one.

Julie G: I also need to have sketch #50 designers contact me with their current submission again. I've lost all email addresses stored after to my last backup. :(
